United Airlines Announced as Presenting Sponsor of The San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The San Francisco Fleet Week Association in partnership with The Air Show Network, is excited to announce that United Airlines has agreed to become the Presenting Sponsor of The San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show.

The Air Show will take place October 5(th), 6(th), and 7(th) over the San Francisco Bay as part of the annual week-long celebration of our US Navy Fleet, with the headlining US Navy Blue Angels. Known for their precise formation flying, the Blue Angels will fly their distinctive blue and gold F-18 hornets at speeds approaching 700 mph with wingtips close as 18" in separation.

Additional performers include Oracle's Sean D Tucker, Lucas Oil's Mike Wiskus, The Patriots Jet Team along with aerial demonstrations by the US Navy Parachute Team, The Leap Frogs and many more.

The United 777, the most advanced airplane in the fleet, will take to the main stage with two performances, flying as low as 500 feet. With show center located between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, this is an extremely rare opportunity to see the airliner's airborne capabilities within a close proximity. San Francisco Fleet Week is the only air show in North America to have a commercial airplane perform during an event.

"United's partnership with San Francisco Fleet Week undoubtedly elevates the Air Show and brings a next level of prestige to this event," said Jim Breen, President of The Air Show Network.

"United's dedication to Fleet Week fortifies our mission to showcase the women and men in all branches of the military," adds General Myatt, Chairman of the San Francisco Fleet Week Association. "Working together, we will insure a bright future of celebrating these individuals and their commitment to our country."

"United is proud to be a presenting sponsor of The San Francisco Fleet Week Air Show," said Janet Lamkin, United Airlines President for California. "San Francisco Fleet Week is a tradition cherished by our customers and our more than 14,000 employees in the Bay Area, many of whom proudly served their country. We are honored to be a part of this tradition."
