Pratt & Whitney Canada Selects LORD Corporation for Dassault Falcon 6X Engine Attach System

Engine Attach System (EAS) technology developed by LORD Corporation – a leader in the management of vibration, noise and motion control – has been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) to mount the PW812D engine on the Dassault Falcon 6X.

LORD and P&WC are working collaboratively to integrate the optimal system to maximize performance of the aircraft, a new ultra-widebody, long-range business jet capable of 5,500 nautical miles.  LORD is a long-time partner of P&WC and is also responsible for the Engine Attachment Systems for the Dassault Falcon 7X and Falcon 8X platforms, both of which utilize similar technology.

“The design of the PW812D will improve the travelers overall experience.  Passengers will benefit from reduced cabin noise and increased cabin comfort with the new EAS,” said Rachid Bendali, LORD Vice President, Aerospace and Defense. “This new contract highlights the synergistic relationship of our two companies as well as LORD’s proven EAS design and fabrication experience.”

LORD Engine Attach Systems are in service on over 50 different aircraft models. These systems safely and reliably mount the aircraft engine; control the relative motions; manage thermal expansion and reduce vibration and noise transmission into the airframe. LORD and P&WC are working collaboratively on newly developed technology to optimize the systems configuration.

The EAS will be designed in LORD Corporation’s Erie, Pennsylvania facility and produced at its aerospace plant in Dayton, Ohio.
