Judges Announced for Inspirational Mannequin Art Competition for 2019 iaedp(TM) Symposium

PEKIN, Ill., Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Judges for the ninth annual Imagine Me Beyond What You See Body Image Mannequin Art Competition, created in 2010 to promote healthy awareness and acceptance of body images, includes internationally acclaimed artists and art therapists.

Returning to the mannequin art competition is Michelle Dean, MA, AR-BC, LPC, CGP, HLM (DVATA)/ Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Group Psychotherapist; as well as former Imagine Me Beyond What You See winners: Rebecca Cerra Tishman Interdisciplinary Artist, 2011 Winner and 2014 Runner Up; Sara Burchfiel, LMFT, 2012 Winner and 2011 Professionals Choice Winner; and Jen White, BSc, MPA of Canada, 2013 Winner and Professionals Choice Winner; along with Peter Thaddeus, acrylic painter and muralist.

The mannequin art competition winner will be announced at the 2019 iaedp(TM) Symposium held in Palm Desert, California at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort February 6 - 10, 2019. A silent auction will be held during the Symposium for sale of the displayed 18x24 artwork posters with proceeds going to the iaedp(TM) Foundation.

The first place winner, runner up, honorable mention and Professionals Choice awards are presented during the annual Symposium.

The contest is open to everyone; however, iaedp(TM) encourages treatment centers and private practices with art therapists to work with patients to provide entries. Mixed media may be used and mannequins can be male or female forms in different body shapes and sizes.

Entries should consist of a 300-word description that includes the inspiration for the artists' artwork with two to three sentences about the artist or group. Entries must be electronically submitted to iaedp(TM) using photographs in jpeg format with high (300+) resolution for enlargement showing four different angles and agree to sign an artist release.
