Aeroseal Duct Sealant Certified Compliant With Tough CDPH Standard Method V1.2 2017 For VOC Emissions

DAYTON, Ohio, Oct. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DUCTSEAL®, the aerosol sealant used during the Aeroseal® duct sealing process, has been certified compliant for low volatile organic chemical (VOC) emissions in accordance with the latest LEED standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council. Third-party testing by Berkeley Analytical concluded that the sealant tested below the lowest VOC concentration range of <=0.5 mg/m3 for the presence of formaldehyde and other targeted VOCs.

This certification confirms that Aeroseal duct sealing meets USGBC LEED v4 standards for low VOC coatings and sealants as well as other building standards that recognize the rigorous testing criteria as set by the California Department of Public Health Standard Method v1.2., Additional green building standards including The WELL Building Standard and the ANSI/GBI 01 Green Building Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings.

"While aeroseal duct sealing has always demonstrated industry-leading characteristics for low VOC emissions, new testing methods and tighter industry standards warranted retesting and certification," said Neal Walsh, Aeroseal's senior vice president of commercial applications. "With the official results of these latest tests and the resulting certification they provide, building engineers and property owners can now rest assured that aeroseal duct sealing provides a safe, sustainable and highly effective means of sealing commercial duct systems."

About Aeroseal Technology

Developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and introduced to the U.S. market in 1999, aeroseal technology is an aerosol-based approach to duct sealing that works from the inside of the ductwork to automatically find and seal leaks. Aeroseal's computer-controlled sealing system monitors the progress of the sealing process as it happens and provides a final report highlighting before and after results. The technology's unique approach to duct sealing offers a fast, economical, non-destructive way to seal leaks throughout the entire duct system.
