Matt Sheridan and Sheridan Landscaping Donate Basketball Dream Court to Child On Behalf of Make-A-Wish Foundation®

PLYMOUTH, Mass., Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sheridan Landscaping -- a hardscape, landscape and grounds maintenance company in Plymouth, Massachusetts -- is donating a basketball dream court to a child with a critical illness on behalf of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America®, a 501 non-profit organization that arranges life-affirming experiences, or "wishes," for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Constructed at the child's home, the court will be donated to the child during a special ceremony which will be attended by Sheridan Landscaping staff, including management staff and Matt Sheridan's family, as well as professional basketball players from the Boston Celtics, who will meet with the child.

Matt Sheridan and Sheridan Landscaping did the excavation and concrete work to create the basketball dream court. Sheridan said they originally became involved in the project when one of their vendors recommended them to Make-A-Wish®:

"Someone from the Foundation was talking to a vendor in Plymouth that we do business with. They mentioned the project to the vendor, that they needed someone to do it fast, and Sheridan was the only company the vendor recommended based on the scope of work, time frame, and degree of difficulty."

Sheridan agreed to the project without question, saying it immediately became a priority:

"I managed this project personally. It's just one of those things -- we've got so much going on, but this is something you don't say 'no' to," said Matt. "You make it a priority and you get it done. We all wanted to make the child's day and fulfill their dream. It makes you feel good to give back, but it's also just the right thing to do -- the noble thing to do."

Sheridan said that fulfilling the child's dream was a meaningful experience for them, and that they intend to do many future hardscape projects for the Foundation, including additional basketball dream courts.

"Now that we've done this project, we can't wait to work with Make-A-Wish® again. We have a few more projects in the works with them all over the state. There are more kids that want dream courts, and we're happy to provide them."
