eSUB, Autodesk BIM 360 Strengthen Alignment Between Trade Contractors and Project Stakeholders

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- eSUB Construction Software, a field data collection and operations tool for trade contractors, announces advanced integration capabilities with Autodesk BIM 360, an industry leading construction management platform. Over the past year, eSUB has developed new features for the integration to provide more seamless connectivity and an improved user experience between eSUB and BIM 360. Most importantly, the updated integration enables a trade contractor using eSUB to collaborate directly with General Contractors, Designers, and Owners using BIM 360.

Trade contractors using eSUB can connect to multiple BIM 360 accounts--their primary BIM 360 account for managing their own set of project drawings and secondary BIM 360 accounts that they are invited to by various general contractors, owners, and architects. This opens the door for the next level of RFI integration between the different project stakeholders and eliminates the need to double enter information between different systems. The ongoing development directly aligns with eSUB's mission for a more integrated labor delivery model in construction to strengthen the alignment between trade contractors and other project stakeholders throughout a construction project lifecycle.

"As one of Autodesk's Forge Fund investment partners, we are fully leveraging the capabilities of Autodesk's open APIs and the Forge platform to change the conversation in construction and expand the level of involvement and visibility of trade contractors," says Wendy Rogers, President and CEO of eSUB Construction Software. "We work closely with many leading trade contractors who are committed to improving constructability and project delivery by partnering with owners, designers and general contractors in an integrated labor delivery model. eSUB and BIM 360 integration breaks down the siloes between different stakeholders to foster collaboration and transparency throughout the construction lifecycle."

Trade contractors are in a unique position in which they work on multiple projects with many different general contractors. Unfortunately, each general contractor may utilize a different construction management platform. As the construction management platform exclusively focused on trade contractors, eSUB is finely attuned to that challenge and has developed deeper technology integration between eSUB and BIM 360. A trade contractor can seamlessly connect to a General Contractor's BIM 360 project for more streamlined communication on drawings and RFIs. Most importantly, the integration allows trade contractors to maintain their own set of data and documents in eSUB to mitigate risk.

"On any given construction site, the greatest number of workers are subtrades - steelworkers, carpenters, MEPs, and others," explained Josh Cheney, Industry Manager, Construction Technology. "Contractors and subcontractors must be on the same page and the integration between eSUB and Autodesk BIM 360 accomplishes the goal."

eSUB will announce the enhanced integration during Autodesk University in which Ms. Rogers is participating as a keynote speaker during Forge DevCon. She will highlight how the Forge platform supports the latest eSUB-BIM 360 integration to provide a more connected job site and stronger alignment of trade contractors in the construction lifecycle.
