Textile Instruments Wins Top Textile Innovation Award

TOLEDO, Ohio, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Textile Instruments LLC recently won the Future Textile Awards for Innovative Start-up at the 2018 Innovate Textile & Apparel Conference ("ITA") held November 6th-8th, 2018, in Amsterdam, Holland. At ITA, Textile Instruments demonstrated a novel concept that is expanding what is possible in smart textiles: a washable fabric that monitors temperature, heart rate, touch, and other health-related vitals without wires and battery packs. Using NASA sensor technology that works without electrical connections ("SanSEC"), Textile Instruments partnered with VOLT Wearable Tech to pair SanSEC with VOLT's highly conductive smart yarn to allow for application in any textile.

"Winning the Future Textile Awards is a reflection of the revolutionary progress we are achieving in pairing wireless technology with functional textiles," said Susan Bernard, Founder and CEO of Textile Instruments. "This is an exciting industry to be a part of as we help to craft the narrative and form strategic partnerships that are leading the way to create textiles of the future."

Through its partnership with VOLT Wearable Tech, Textile Instruments has successfully developed a fabric-based wearable platform with an ability to scale to the masses. A key aspect of the platform is the versatility of VOLT's conductive smart yarns that can be custom-made with passive sensors that are tunable in nature. Textile Instruments' approach to sensor technology is also challenging the industry to begin to see textiles as having an IQ - also known as Intellectual Quotients.
