Mediaplanet and Mother-of-Two Catherine Lowe Link Up Together for Literacy

NEW YORK, Dec. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mediaplanet announces the launch of this December's edition of "STEM & Early Education." This campaign will advocate for literacy and STEM in early childhood education.

Starting Kindergarten underprepared can have long-term implications on a child's life. A recent study concluded that children who started kindergarten behind their peers socially, mentally, and behaviorally were 80% more likely to be held back by 4th grade. 26% of children who read to at least 3 times a week can recognize all letters of the alphabet by age 4--compared to 14% who are read to less frequently. Those students, who are also able to recognize and count more numbers, write their own names and show an interest in reading. Additionally, having teachers who are properly equipped to handle a classroom plays a large role in ensuring success in the classroom.

The print component of "STEM + Early Education" is distributed within today's edition of USA Today in New York, Washington DC/Baltimore, LA, Chicago, and Boston markets, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 750,000. The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets.
