Dr. Donna Strickland to give a lecture on her work
OTTAWA, Jan. 17, 2019 /CNW/ - Mr. Iain Stewart, President of the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) will welcome Dr. Donna Strickland, the 2018 Nobel Laureate in Physics back to the NRC. Dr. Strickland will deliver a lecture on her work in laser physics and chirped pulse amplification research that paved the way toward the Nobel Prize.
Dr. Strickland began her career at the NRC as a summer student in metrology, and returned in 1988 as a Postdoctoral Fellow working with NRC Researcher and University of Ottawa Canada Research Chair in Attosecond Photonics, Dr. Paul Corkum. She is presently a Professor at the University of Waterloo.
