Eastway Behavioral Healthcare Awarded CARF Three-year Accreditation

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Eastway Behavioral Healthcare, one of the largest and most comprehensive not-for-profit organizations serving Ohio residents with mental illness, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a CARF three-year accreditation, the highest level of accreditation offered. Attaining CARF-accredited status means that an organization is guided by internationally recognized service standards and best practices, and is committed to providing the highest quality of care to the communities it serves.

CARF accreditation demonstrates that an organization is intent on reducing risk, addressing health and safety concerns, respecting cultural and individual preferences, and providing the best possible care. First awarded to Eastway in 1985, the organization has maintained its status over the intervening years. The current accreditation extends through Dec. 31, 2021.

"Receiving CARF accreditation requires a significant effort, strong teamwork, and a commitment at all levels of the organization to providing quality services and enhancing the lives of the people we serve," said John Strahm, Eastway President & CEO.

"This process, though arduous, was certainly well-worth the result. It validates our dedication to our community, and is a reminder of the amazing work that Eastway does every day."

To achieve accreditation, Eastway was assessed on approximately 5,000 standards following a three-day survey by four CARF examiners. Accreditation validates that an organization has opened its service delivery and business processes to outside scrutiny in order to improve the quality of its programs. It is a public statement that an organization strives to ensure that the services it offers meet and exceed expectations.

"For more than 60 years, we have been reaching out to those whose worlds have been turned upside down by mental illness, addiction, emotional disturbance and trauma," added Strahm. "We have made a commitment to put the needs of our clients at the center of everything we do, and pledge to continue to find ways to enhance our programs to better serve their needs."
