In 2006, The IP Company was invited by the Dutch Ministry of Defense to contribute to the development of a groundbreaking communication concept for naval vessels. The initiative aimed to enable “unmanned” safe sailing, with the broader objective of reducing crew requirements and operational costs. This marked the beginning of a pioneering journey that would position The IP Company at the forefront of naval communication innovation.

As a result of this collaboration, The IP Company became the first in the world to invent a wireless communication and messaging system specifically designed for use aboard naval ships. While initial concerns were raised regarding the security of such a system, The IP Company successfully addressed these challenges, delivering a secure and reliable solution that met the stringent requirements of military operations.

The company engineered a robust communication framework based on WiFi, TETRA, or Private LTE technologies. This system integrates seamlessly with both Platform Management Systems and Combat Management Systems. By adopting open standards and offering a Software Development Kit (SDK), The IP Company ensured easy integration with a wide range of existing systems. A key feature of the design is a “switch” function that allows for the disconnection of external antennas, effectively preventing signal broadcasting and enhancing operational security. The system delivers critical alarms and messages directly to the appropriate crew member’s mobile device—whether a smartphone, tablet, or PC—via the selected network, ensuring swift and targeted communication.

The proven effectiveness and innovation of The IP Company’s solutions have attracted significant interest from defense industry stakeholders. System integrators, shipbuilders, and government agencies recognize the value of the company’s smart and secure communication technologies, particularly in mission-critical environments.

Today, The IP Company is committed to becoming a global supplier of secure wireless communication solutions for naval and offshore applications. Its mission is to revolutionize communication in these sectors by enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. Through continuous innovation and a focus on user-centric design, The IP Company ensures that mission-critical messages are delivered quickly, securely, and to the right person—every time.
