Babyscripts Announces Third Annual Future of Obstetrics Summit in Nashville

WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Babyscripts, the leading virtual care platform for obstetrics, will be hosting its annual thought-leadership summit, bringing together OBGYNs from around the country to discuss the top challenges in pregnancy care and the integration of technology into traditional obstetrics. The third annual Future of Obstetrics Summit will take place at The Bell Tower in Nashville, TN, on Sunday, May 5th, following the opening session of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology's (ACOG) Annual Meeting, also in Nashville, TN.

At the Future of Obstetrics Summit, leaders in obstetrics, patient care, remote patient monitoring, and innovation will explore the current challenges in pregnancy care; including the maternal health crisis in the United States, the gap in care during the fourth-trimester, the need for investors to focus on improving care for moms, and the battle between payers and providers.

As maternal mortality in the United States continues to rise, the need for solutions is increasingly urgent, and the advent of digital health has presented an opportunity for a much needed paradigm shift in the delivery of pregnancy care and the support of maternal health. Babyscripts hopes to contribute to the improvement in maternal health in the United States by prompting these discussions between the medical providers of care, innovation leaders who are looking to push healthcare forward faster, and the technology companies who develop solutions.

"One of the biggest problems in healthcare is that no one talks to each other. Providers do great things and the payers don't hear about it -- a payer might offer a new program when their provider partners have no idea that this program existed in the first place," says Juan Pablo Segura, President and Co-founder of Babyscripts. "The goal of our summit is to bring together leaders in multiple disciplines that all in some way affect or are transforming maternity care in this country: to share, to understand, and act upon innovative ideas to truly move the needle in women's health."

The event will feature a Fireside Chat with Neel Shah, MD, MPP, FACOG, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the Delivery Decisions Initiative at Harvard's Ariadne Labs; and Haywood Brown, MD, Immediate Past President of ACOG and current Vice President for Diversity, Inclusion & Equal Opportunity at the University of South Florida. Other speakers include Nancy Gaba, MD, FACOG; Karen Dale, RN, MSN; Brigitte Nettesheim; Colette Edwards; Donald Wiper, MD; Rick Gordan; Aashish Shah, MD; Sylvia Romm, MD, MPH; Loral Patchen, PhD, CNM; Helen Ciesielski; Dan Gebremehdin, MD; Nathaniel Denicola, MD; Kelly Leggett, MD; Deborah McCarter, PhD; Tamika Auguste, MD; Lindsay Deneault; Juan Pablo Segura; Anish Sebastian; and Judith Nowlin.

The conference is by invitation only. Members of the media who wish to attend or who would like to interview participants may contact Stacy Callahan, Vice President with Astonish Media Group, 917-972-1101 or stacy(at)astonishmediagroup(dot)com.
