One Thousand High Performers and Low Income Students Will Receive a Full Scholarship to Attend Digital Media Academy Summer Tech Camps

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Thanks to a $1.2 million donation from The Nudelman Family Trust, one thousand excelling students in need of financial assistance will be provided with fully-paid-for tech summer camp opportunities. Digital Media Academy is dedicated to offering world-class STEM education globally through its Summer Tech Camps and Certified School Programs. Digital Media Academy believes that all driven and motivated students should have access to high-quality tech education experiences, regardless of financial status. As a part of Digital Media Academy's mission to increase the number of women in STEM, 500 of the scholarships will be reserved for girls.

These scholarships will be awarded based on both merit and need, and will cover the cost of tuition, meals and facility fees. The scholarships are for a one-week daily programs (8 hours each day for 5 days, totalling 40 hours of instruction).

Digital Media Academy provides immersive, project-based learning experiences aged for students aged 7-17 in a variety of STEM subjects. The summer camps offer various courses in film + photography, game design, music production, 3D modeling + design, coding + artificial intelligence, and robotics + engineering.

Digital Media Academy currently holds summer camps at 17 of the top universities across the US and Canada, all of which will be eligible for scholarship participation. Notable schools include Stanford University, Harvard University, Georgetown University, and University of Toronto.

To be considered for financial assistance, all applicants must complete the Digital Media Academy Tech Camps Financial Assistance application in full. In order to complete the application, they will need to provide the following information:

    --  A written statement/essay that states why they should be granted the
        scholarship.
    --  Grade Point Average (upon receiving the award, they will be required to
        submit a proof of academic performance to confirm their performance).
    --  A low income proof. Family annual income under $ 70,000.00.
    --  A recommendation letter from an educator.
    --  The Digital Media Academy Tech Camps location, course titles (three),
        and dates that they would like to attend.

Applications for the 2019 summer season are now available and can be filled out via the Digital Media Academy website. The Selection Committee, composed of prominent educators, will be selecting and notifying recipients in intervals, from April to June 2019.
