Reliant Saddles Up to Support the Community at 2019 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™

It’s not our first rodeo, Houston! Reliant is back in the saddle as a longtime Heritage Partner of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Bringing unique experiences for rodeo-goers, first responders and local nonprofits, Reliant is taking its sponsorship to new heights this year.

“The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is such an important part of our community’s heritage, and we are honored to be a longstanding partner with this iconic event,” said Elizabeth Killinger, president of Reliant. “At Reliant, we do everything with our customers and communities in mind, and we are excited to bring new support for deserving local nonprofits and first responders as part of our Rodeo activities this year.”

Hats off to Houston

Ten local nonprofits are showing off their artistic abilities and competing for the top donation of $10,000 in Reliant’s charitable art contest, Hats off to Houston. The public is invited to vote for their favorite hat on Reliant’s Facebook page during the first two weeks of Rodeo, February 25-March 10, to help award donations totaling $24,500. The deserving nonprofits, which serve children and families across the Houston area, will display their colorful, oversized cowboy hats in NRG Center at Hall C.

Protecting Those who Protect us

New this year, Reliant is honored to support Houston-area first responders, including public law enforcement, firefighters and EMS professionals, for the Rodeo’s First Responders Day on Monday, March 4. The first 1,000 first responders to visit the Reliant Big Boot after 3 p.m. and show their badge will receive a free Nest Protect smoke and carbon monoxide alarm.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to our first responders who risk their lives and safety every day for our local communities,” Killinger added. “Through our partnership with Google and Nest, we are excited to honor our valued first responders through these Nest Protect devices as our way of protecting those who protect us.”
