Sherwood Ford to Host Adopt-A-Pet-Athon Event with Second Chance Animal Rescue Society on April 27

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, March 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pets are a welcome addition to any growing family, which is why one can see so many Edmonton residents heading out with their dogs, cats and all others for a day in town or at the park. Those who would like to either adopt a new pet or help benefit a local animal rescue organization are encouraged to visit local dealership Sherwood Ford on April 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; during this time, the dealership will be hosting its annual Adopt-A-Pet-Athon event with Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS).

During the Adopt-A-Pet Day, volunteers from SCARS will be present at the dealership with over twenty dogs and cats that are available for adoption. There, visiting patrons will be able to adopt their new pets and take them home immediately. Sherwood Ford will also provide snacks, refreshments and an outdoor barbecue, weather permitting.

Those who would like to adopt a pet from SCARS should first fill out and submit an adoption application, which can be found on the organization's website. Representatives from SCARS will be available at Sherwood Ford on every Saturday throughout April to answer questions.

Members of the public who are interested in donating to Second Chance Animal Rescue are encouraged to visit Sherwood Ford through the month of April to schedule a test drive of their favourite Ford models. For every test drive taken, the dealership will donate $10 to SCARS. Sherwood Ford also encourages consumers to donate other essential items to the organization, including puppy and kitten food and pee pads. There will be a donation bin on the dealership's premises where drivers are encouraged to drop off their gifts.

Those who would like to help SCARS in other ways besides adopting and donating are encouraged to volunteer and foster at the organization, and more information on these programs can be found on the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society website.
