Lantern Energy Awarded Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships Contract

NORWICH, Conn., April 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Lantern Energy has been awarded a contract by Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) to conduct a United States Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Code Compliance Field Study on behalf of the State of Connecticut, Eversource, and United Illuminating.

The Study focuses on the energy components of newly constructed single-family homes and townhomes throughout the State of Connecticut. The aim of the Study is to:

-- Identify best practices in residential construction and code compliance
        statewide.
-- Understand the potential for increased energy savings and reduction of
carbon emissions from future and more rigorous code adoptions.
-- Refine utility efficiency programs to assist design professionals,
builders, and homeowners to go beyond code efficiency.
-- Collect information to create a training curriculum to strengthen
building energy code compliance in the State of CT.

"We are very pleased to play a role in this important study and firmly believe that the adoption of better building practices will not only save the homeowners money but reduce pollution, carbon emissions and make the home a more comfortable and healthier place to live." said Craig Frenkel, Principal of Lantern Energy.

Certified Teams from Lantern Energy will conduct field inspections and diagnostic testing of new homes throughout the State comparing building practices to the IECC residential codes.

Residential construction companies will not be identified in the study. This offers a terrific opportunity for contractors to have a professional energy efficiency firm benchmark their construction techniques in relation to new building codes at no cost to them. Lantern Energy will be contacting local building departments and residential contractors to take part in the study. If you are a builder and would like to participate, please contact Craig Frenkel at Lantern Energy (860) 324-6696.
