ARLINGTON, Va., April 25, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bio-Process Systems Alliance (BPSA), an international industry association of the single-use bio-processing industry, is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients of the Jerold Martin Legacy Scholarship Fund.

This year's winners are:

-- North Carolina State's Biomanufacturing Training & Education Center
        (BTEC)
-- Texas A&M's National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM)
-- Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Biomanufacturing Education and
        Training Center (BETC)

Established in 2015, the scholarship fund honors BPSA Chairman-Emeritus Jerry Martin, a champion of BPSA and the single-use industry. The scholarship supports the education and training of a skilled single-use technology workforce for this rapidly growing manufacturing sector.

"BPSA will continue to partner with our scholarship award winners in 2019 to address the challenges of educating and sustaining a skilled workforce," said Kevin Ott, Executive Director of BPSA. "We are expecting education and training topics to be front and center at our upcoming BPSA Summit, July 23-24, in Washington, DC, with directors and students present from each of these three university-based centers. Our goal is to increase the visibility of the centers, as they are on the leading-edge of training our future skilled workforce - a critical need."
