World Première: Agile Examination and Certification For Non-IT
SAN FRANCISCO, August 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The IIABC helps companies to turn into agile organisations. While Agile working and the Scrum method were originally applied in IT environments, the IIABC has set itself the goal to help sectors other than companies in the IT sector to become Agile. The IIABC is a completely independent organisation that offers examinations worldwide; all certificates issued by the IIABC are internationally recognised. Examinations can be taken in both Dutch and English. This makes this institute an absolute forerunner worldwide. All certificate holders are also registered in an international database.
The International Institute for Agile Business Certification (IIABC) is the partner par excellence for companies on their way to becoming Agile organisations. The IIABC, in collaboration with universities, has developed qualitative certification that allows people to work with Scrum across the entire breadth of any organisation. In other words; successful applications that extend well beyond only IT.
This is a response to a need in the market; many teams from non-IT organisations and departments experience professional jargon, as well as traditional methods, as an obstacle.
The IIABC promises to guarantee the quality of professionals and training agencies, and to offer continuous further development of scientific insights in collaboration with the aforementioned universities.
As of now, the IIABC certifies employees and teams that wish to apply Agile methodologies and Scrum in their work and organisation but do not want to learn all kinds of technical terminology. The IIABC is of the opinion that Scrum should be applicable to employees in all sectors and industries and especially that it should be understandable.
What is Scrum?
Scrum has traditionally been a tool for software development, but this notion is now obsolete. Scrum is a flexible, agile way to produce products and realise projects. The Scrum method enables us to work in multidisciplinary teams that deliver working results in short sprints that have fixed lengths of one to four weeks. Scrum is a methodology based on empirical principles. This theory assumes that knowledge derives from experiences and that decisions are therefore made on the basis of what is already known. Scrum: predictability, risk reduction, transparency, control and manoeuvrability/agility. Manoeuvring with current events that occur in a project, by adjusting goals and resources.
IIABC certification is offered at three different levels: Foundation, Advanced and Expert.
The Agile Business Foundation Certificate is an internationally-recognised certificate for people who have (recently) started working Agile and Scrum in a non-IT company. The certificate demonstrates basic knowledge of Scrum; a document of proof that distinguishes staff and teams from the rest. Training with one of the official IIABC partners is not a necessary condition for this certification, but it is, of course, recommended. The certificate can be obtained by passing a 30-minute online examination.
With an Agile Business Advanced Certificate in hand, you can immediately show that you know and can apply Scrum theory. The certificate focuses on the Scrum Master role. The certificate demonstrates that the owner has achieved a high level of expertise. In other words: is able to facilitate the scrum process in such a way that a team can achieve optimal performance.
Agile Business Expert enables the participant to fulfil the role of Product Owner within Scrum organisations. A Product owner in a non-IT organisation is able to maximise the value of project results, both internally and externally. Professional stakeholder management and proper prioritisation of activities ensure optimal utilisation of scarce resources in a project. A solid theoretical foundation is a basic requirement for this certification, and practical experience is an advantage when it comes to the successful completion of this certification.
