SOUTH JORDAN, Utah, Aug. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), has opened applications for the three-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program's Class of 2023. The program is offered at Roseman University's South Jordan, Utah and Henderson, Nevada campuses.

Roseman's student-centered, collaborative learning environment, offers early Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) starting the beginning of the student's first year of pharmacy school to enable them to apply what they've learned in the classroom through hands-on practice in the real-world setting.

The PharmD learning environment is structured around Roseman's Six-Point Mastery Learning Model which was created to produce graduates that are competent and to provide an educational environment that not only creates and ensures high levels of achievement from all students, but also fosters cooperation and collaboration in the learning process. The Six-Point Mastery Learning Model consists of Block Curriculum, Active and Collaborative Learning, Competency-based Education, Assessment Learning, Early Experiential Learning, and a Classroom Design that facilitates learning. All of these components reinforce one another, and contribute to an unparalleled educational environment.

With this learning model, Roseman requires our students to meet 90 percent or higher on each assessment.

"The rigor associated with the pharmacy program combined with our 90 percent or higher competency levels helps to ensure that all our graduates are well prepared for a career in pharmacy," stated Helen Park, College of Pharmacy Assistant Dean for Admissions and Student Affairs.

Roseman's College of Pharmacy has formed a partnership with The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio which provides third-year students the opportunity to complete Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE) training at one of the best medical centers in the country. This unique experience offers students a chance to develop exceptional clinical skills for the ultimate residency preparation.

In addition, Roseman's College of Pharmacy and CVS Health have joined together to provide a distinct opportunity for Hispanic/Latino/Spanish speaking undergraduate students to learn about pharmacy education and careers and establish a pipeline of Spanish speaking students to enter the field of pharmacy with a desire to serve the Hispanic community.
