Virtual Vocations Celebrates Remote Work and Family with Week-Long Celebration

TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- October is National Work and Family Month (NWFM), and this week, Virtual Vocations is celebrating with discounts, giveaways, and much, much more.

NWFM was first established in 2003 by a congressional resolution, and since then, the designation has continued to be recognized by a variety of federal agencies, educational institutions, and private businesses like Virtual Vocations. This year, Virtual Vocations is marking the occasion by dedicating the week of Oct. 7-11, 2019 to celebrating remote work and its positive impact on working professionals and their families.

"Improving my family's lifestyle with remote work was the main reason I started Virtual Vocations 13 years ago," said Virtual Vocations CEO and co-founder Laura Spawn. "With three small children and my husband still in school, we had to merge all aspects of our lives, including parenting and work, into as flexible a schedule as possible.

"Our National Work and Family Month celebration each October allows us to acknowledge that family and work go together," Spawn added. "Today, my children are older, my husband is finished with school, and many of our needs have changed, but one thing I've found is that working remotely has remained a true benefit over the years that has allowed us to blend all areas of our lives together, rather than trying to prioritize one area over another."

Virtual Vocations' 2019 National Work and Family Month celebration includes opportunities for jobseekers to learn more about telecommuting, and give feedback on what they're looking for from remote employers by taking the Remote Work Benefits survey and entering to win prizes like Virtual Vocations subscriptions, gift cards, resumé reviews by our expert team, and even a full resumé, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile revamp.

Jobseekers can also get their questions about remote work answered by the Virtual Vocations team during a live Q&A on the company's Facebook page on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 3-3:30 p.m. ET.

Virtual Vocations is also offering a variety of discounts to jobseekers over the course of the week, including:

-- 20% off new subscriptions to Virtual Vocations
-- 15% off Virtual Vocations career services, including resumé and cover
        letter writing
