Max Minzner Joins Arcadia Power as General Counsel

Arcadia Power, the consumer technology company making clean energy an easy choice, has appointed Max Minzner as its new General Counsel. Minzner, a former General Counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will provide legal and policy oversight at the state and federal level to advance Arcadia Power’s efforts in simplifying clean energy access. This hire comes during a period of major expansion for the company, which experienced 100% user-growth over the past year and recently appointed its first COO, Kate Henningsen.

Minzner is joining Arcadia Power from Jenner & Block, where he was a partner in one of the leading energy practices in the country. With extensive expertise in power markets, utilities, and administrative law, Minzner also served as General Counsel of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission during the Obama Administration, where he oversaw the legal aspects of the agency’s work in energy regulation, wholesale electric markets and the reliability of the interstate power grid. During his tenure, Minzner supervised the Commission’s litigation in two United States Supreme Court cases. He also appeared twice before the Subcommittee on Energy of the House Energy and Commerce Committee to testify about electricity matters.

“Arcadia Power’s mission is to connect customers to clean energy no matter where they live or what energy market they live in,” said Kiran Bhatraju, Founder & CEO of Arcadia Power. "Max's deep knowledge of energy markets and experience working with regulators and utilities will be crucial in the coming years to help us expand our offerings on the platform."

“I am thrilled to be joining the stellar and innovative team at Arcadia Power,” said Minzner. “The energy industry is undergoing transformative change. I believe that Arcadia Power is leading the way in bringing more choice to consumers and clean energy to the grid.”

In addition to his public policy experience, Minzner spent over a decade teaching law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he also served as Associate Dean. He earned his law degree from Yale Law School and his undergraduate degree in political science and mathematics from Brown University. Minzner will be based in Arcadia’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.
