SAP Supervisory Board Appoints Thomas Saueressig as New Executive Board Member to Lead SAP Product Engineering

WALLDORF, Germany, Oct. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced the appointment of Thomas Saueressig to the SAP Executive Board effective November 1, 2019. Saueressig will continue to lead SAP Product Engineering. This new board area includes SAP S/4HANA®, SAP® Digital Supply Chain, and SME and industry solutions. In addition, Saueressig is responsible for the SAP User Experience and the SAP Knowledge and Education organizations, SAP Labs Network and Global Cloud Services. Furthermore, he will take on responsibility for SAP HANA® Enterprise Cloud. Saueressig and his team will be at the forefront of helping all SAP customers realize the vision of becoming intelligent enterprises through innovation and integration.

Saueressig, 34, who has been appointed to the Executive Board for a three-year term until October 31, 2022, joined SAP in 2004 as a student. He moved up in the ranks to become SAP's chief information officer in 2016. Earlier this year, he moved to the product side in his role as head of SAP Product Engineering. He was included in Fortune's "40 Under 40" list in 2016. He has a degree in business information technology from the University of Cooperative Education in Mannheim (Germany) and a joint executive MBA from ESSEC (France) and Mannheim Business School (Germany).
