Chair of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. Honored at Vaughn College Gala

FLUSHING, N.Y., Nov. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Vaughn College honored William J. Flynn, chair of the board and chief executive officer of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. for his role as an influential leader in the aviation and aerospace industries, and his dedicated support of Vaughn College at the sixth annual event on Thursday, November 7.

Anne Thompson, chief environmental affairs reporter of NBC news, returned as master of ceremonies for an evening that also highlighted outstanding academic and professional achievements of Vaughn students.

The Gala set a new record and generated more than $460,000 with the highest number of attendees, the greatest number of sponsorships and the most ticket sales. Proceeds raised will be used to fund scholarships and institutional priorities. Atlas Air was a platinum sponsor.

Vaughn College serves many first-generation Americans and first-generation college students and seeks to provide an engaging educational experience for every student. Ninety-nine percent of Vaughn graduates are employed, 83 percent of those in a related field, or continuing their education within one year of graduation.
