Mercedes-Benz Canada enjoys positive sales growth, SUV record in November 2019

TORONTO, Dec. 3, 2019 /CNW/ - Entering the final month of 2019, Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network are pleased to report continued positive momentum, as the company retailed 4,166 passenger vehicles, vans, and smarts in November 2019. This represents a 9.3% increase compared to November 2018. Year-to-date, Mercedes-Benz Canada has retailed 42,594 total units.

In the month of November 2019, the company retailed more SUVs than any other month in Mercedes-Benz Canada's history. Total passenger vehicle sales grew by 12.0% over November 2018, with 2,368 SUVs and 1,328 passenger cars retailed -- or 3,696, in all. This monthly result was driven by continued strong demand for the GLC SUV (+25.9%) and GLC Coupe (+146.7%), as well as ongoing consumer excitement for the all-new generation of Mercedes-Benz GLE SUVs (+12.1%). November 2019 also marked the fourth consecutive month of overall sales growth compared to 2018 monthly results.

In 2019, Mercedes-Benz Canada has sold 21,475 luxury light trucks and 15,733 passenger cars, for a total of 37,208 passenger vehicles delivered. Within the two segments, the most notable YoY percentage growth has been seen in the GLC Coupe and G-Wagon and the E-Class Wagon and CLS Coupe.

Mercedes-Benz Vans retailed 469 units in November, a minor decrease compared to November 2018 (-3.1%). Year-to-date, the division has retailed 5,124 units. 1 smart fortwo vehicle was delivered in November 2019.

In November 2019, Mercedes-Benz Canada's Pre-Owned division delivered 1,491 units, of which 1,226 were Certified Pre-Owned (CPO). This represents Mercedes-Benz Canada's best Certified Pre-Owned November ever. Compared to November 2018, CPO sales penetration increased by 11.4% in November 2019. Year-to-date, CPO sales penetration has increased by 5.6%.
