IMI Constructs New Test Facility for Recycling Applications

BOYNE CITY, Mich., Jan. 31, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Industrial Magnetics, Inc., owner of the Javelin brand, recently announced the construction of a new, 6,000 square foot application testing facility for customers who are interested in the recovery or separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in recycling-related industries.

The lab, located in Fort Wayne, IN, is slated for completion in the spring of 2020 and will operate as a satellite location to the company's headquarters in Boyne City, MI. Its aim is to help customers choose the right magnetic separation products for the job by running samples of their actual product stream in a live, test environment.

The facility will feature an adaptable, 48" wide system, complete with a suspended magnetic separator, sizing screen, (2) eddy current separator units, a drum magnet, and (3) magnetic stainless-steel separators. The lab is suitable for testing the recovery, separation or removal of ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless-steel materials from a product flow in the recycling, scrap metal, e-scrap, construction, demolition, and municipal solid waste industries.

Jason Miller, Javelin's vice president of engineering, states, "The test facility will be a huge benefit to our customers, in that they can send in their material for testing and receive data back on a real-life scenario. They'll have the opportunity to see exactly how our equipment will perform on different types and sizes of material, and at different flow rates and capacities."

Upon completion of the testing process, a full report is provided with pictures, video, test results, and recommendations. Most testing can be completed in 7-10 business days and customers are welcome to attend the test sessions in person or via Skype.

Prospective customers who are interested in obtaining additional information or initiating a test should contact their IMI Regional Sales Manager, or call 800.662.4638.
