ATS Takes Security and Safety to the Edge at Border Security Expo

HERNDON, Va., Feb. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- All Traffic Solutions will be exhibiting at Border Security Expo for the first time this year.

The Herndon, VA-based traffic safety and data analytics leader will be showcasing how its highly mobile, easily deployable, cloud-connected technology can be combined with a variety of class-leading Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) solutions. The results provide security, law enforcement and other organizations with highly accurate and detailed information about vehicle movements in real time, improving overall situational awareness and enabling greater proactivity.

Effectively enforcing geographic boundaries is challenging for a number of reasons. The large numbers of crossing points mean that to deploy permanent technology at all locations can be prohibitively expensive -- and it may not be needed at all times. Power and data supplies may not be available, meaning that any deployed technology must be capable of being self-sufficient as well as rugged and dependable; having to return to a site time and again to maintain a system or change its operating parameters makes no sense.

ATS addresses this by providing solutions for safety and traffic monitoring applications that offer high levels of autonomy and efficiency.

Its ATS 5 trailer features solar power and can be used in conjunction with numerous technologies that feature web connectivity to address a wide range of applications.

Because ATS adopts an open-standards approach, integration of technology from other manufacturers is readily achievable. In the case of ALPR, this means that the ATS 5 trailer can be delivered with custom system fits that increase choice and flexibility -- traffic monitoring and data-gathering can be combined with variable message sign technology to counter speeding and other types of unsafe driving, for instance.

This enables a multitude of challenges to be addressed, says ATS CEO Andy Souders.

"A common challenge at border crossings is the ability to accurately count stopped, queueing and tailgating vehicles. Our lidar-based solution does that with accuracy levels of over 99%.

"Another issue is that some drivers are unfamiliar with local rules, so we're also going to be showcasing our recently launched system that detects and alerts wrong-way drivers. This addresses a problem that too often causes fatalities, and at Border Security Expo we'll be showing how security and improved safety can be combined."

Attendees can see the ATS 5 trailer at the company's booth #623. Border Security Expo takes place March 11-12, 2020 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.
