Quantum Imaging Announces Award of High-Definition Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) Camera Order from Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, Valued at $13.5M

March 25, 2020 - Quantum Imaging, a leader in the development of a range of high-performance camera solutions from x-ray to SWIR imaging, announces the award of a high-definition Short Wave Infrared (SWIR) camera order from Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, valued at $13.5 million.

The new SWIR camera implementing a 1280x1024, 10μm imager format with on-chip image processing, delivers a critical new capability to many tactical imaging applications. Quantum Imaging’s camera is based on an innovative sensor designed and manufactured by SemiConductor Devices (SCD), Quantum’s parent company.

Regarding the win, Mark Fydenkevez, President and CEO of SCD USA, and Quantum Imaging, Inc., remarked, “We are very proud to have been awarded this important program with Raytheon. Our strategy is to leverage SCD’s cutting-edge sensors to significantly improve the performance of imaging and night vision systems used for both military and commercial applications. We are pleased to partner with Raytheon, integrating these technically-advanced sensors into Quantum Imaging’s innovative camera architectures, which will provide America’s warfighters with unmatched technical capabilities.”

Quantum Imaging SWIR cameras will be applied by Raytheon to further enhance a family of products that provides detailed intelligence data from the visual and infrared spectrum, supporting U.S. military, civilian and allied missions around the world.
