Hooey Brands Transitions Texas-Based Factory Production from Hats to Cloth Face Masks
SPRING BRANCH, Texas, April 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hooey Brands announced the transitioning of its factory's manufacturing from hats to cloth face masks. The decision to transform the American Made Cap Company (AMCC), located in Crowell, Texas, was made in an effort to assist in the nation's fight against COVID-19.
Hooey t-shirts will be repurposed for fabric. Cap components will be repurposed for straps and seams.
"Like everyone else, we've been searching for a way to contribute," said Joey Austin, Hooey Brands Founder and President. "Converting the factory to produce cloth face masks is our way to help our employees help the country. In these unprecedented times, we're best served when we're creative and stay positive."
Hooey will donate to healthcare systems and first responders. Additional quantities will be available to the general public following the CDC's most recent recommendation that the general public wear cloth face coverings. Any profits generated will be used to create more additional units to be donated to medical personnel.
The factory is currently re-engineering its production line and plans to have masks available within two weeks. Customers will be able to purchase at http://www.getyourhooey.com. Medical facilities can contact facemasks@getyourhooey.com to request donations.
