Workspace Education Launches Global Online Colearning Community

BETHEL, Conn., Aug. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Workspace Education, a global colearning community, today announced the launch of their full-service K-12 online platform, Workspace Sky, which brings together families for the shared purpose of learning, living, and working without institutional boundaries.

With the uncertainty of the fall school year, many families are rethinking sending their children back to the classroom and are instead choosing to have them learn at home. Some are doing this on this on their own, but many others are rallying to vibrant and robust new learning communities. Through its online community-building, professional educational services, and network of tools, Workspace Sky is helping create a colearning community of motivated, like-minded parents spanning from local neighborhoods to learning spaces across the world.

"Right now, we're seeing families struggle with the decision about what's best for their child's education in the fall. The challenge is that most don't even know there's another option, one that can be flexible, productive, and even fun for their kids," says Catherine Fraise, Founder of Workspace Education and 100 Roads, the organization behind the colearnign movement. "We're encouraging families to realize that they don't have to do this alone. Becoming the primary educator of your child can feel daunting, but really, nobody knows what a family needs more than they do. Now, the combination of technology and the desire to reform education have made colearning both possible and necessary."

Colearning communities create ideal learning and working environments to cultivate a deep sense of community and active spaces for parents and their children. No two colearning communities are exactly alike, just as no community is an exact replica of even its nearest neighbor, though all are based on three essential components of community, ecosystem of services, and spaces.

Workspace Education started as a colearning community in a "Big Red Barn" in Bethel, CT. The company is launching its Workspace Sky platform in time for the new school year.

Services on the Workspace Sky platform include an aggregation of curriculum that is both accredited and universal, coworking collectives, art activities, good services, teachers across a wide range of content, and tools and platforms that provide support for community organization and community building.

"Today, we need virtual platforms that youth and family can use to support their learning in the real world," said Dr. Chris Unger of Northeastern University.

With the support of a local and global community, Workspace Sky helps parents find all of the "ingredients" they need to create personalized pathways for children with access to as much guidance and support as is necessary.

About Workspace Education

Workspace Education is a global colearning community. We bring together like-minded families and educators for the shared purpose of learning, living, and working beyond institutional boundaries.

Colearning combines work and learning in dynamic environments to cultivate a deep sense of community and empower individuals. This new paradigm of education sheds unnecessary structure and allows youth to reconnect to their intrinsic motivations and discover who they are and what they want to become.

In both physical spaces and in a virtual environment, Workspace Sky, families cocreate a diverse selection of learning experiences, academic, skill building, and so much more to create what their children need to be successful, in balance and engaged.

Our learners practice life skills in a space where trial - and error - is expected. Our parents and educators trust the learning community they are empowered to help create.

Through this new design, Workspace lets every child be his or her own authentic self. We are reimagining the way we learn and opening the door to infinite possibility.
