Citizen Care Pod’s New Portable Classroom Will Deter the Spread of COVID-19

The company that introduced mobile COVID-19 testing pods for use in North America is now offering portable classroom space that is designed to deter the spread of COVID-19 to safeguard the health of teachers and students as they return to schools, colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Education Pod from Citizen Care Pod Corporation functions like a classroom portable, but with the added advantage of being equipped with HVAC systems with HEPA filters and other safety features. The pods are ideal for class sizes of up to 15 students. The units are fully insulated (behind steel cladding) and heated/air-conditioned. They are equipped with operable windows to provide natural ventilation and separate entrances and exits for teachers and students. Options include UV disinfectant lighting and cameras for temperature screening. Like the testing pods, the Education Pod is designed with safety in mind.

Earlier this year, Citizen Care Pod developed a mobile COVID-19 smart screening and testing unit to provide communities, businesses and schools with a safer testing environment for front-line health workers and the public. These testing pods, already in use across North America, can be easily modified for future use in administering the vaccine for COVID-19, as well as for flu and other viruses.

Utilizing modular construction methods, PCL Construction is manufacturing and assembling the pods by retrofitting shipping containers to support rapid delivery and installation. Heating, air-conditioning, including high efficiency particulate HEPA filters for mechanical ventilation units are standard features.
