The Obesity Society (TOS), the leading organization of scientists and health professionals devoted to understanding and reversing the epidemic of obesity and its adverse health, economic and societal effects will hold its 38th Annual Meeting at ObesityWeek® Interactive, an online event.
WHAT
ObesityWeek® is the largest international conference on obesity featuring programing from TOS and multiple related scientific and medical associations. Thousands of leading scientists, clinicians, surgeons, health care professionals and policymakers will gather for the eighth annual ObesityWeek® conference. Media representatives will have the opportunity to learn about the future of obesity research and treatment with hundreds of expert speakers presenting new and emerging obesity treatment, the science of weight loss, innovative evidence-based prevention strategies, cutting-edge metabolic surgery techniques and the genetics of obesity.
ObesityWeek® 2020 will be presented on an AI-enhanced virtual conference platform that encourages an unprecidented level of interaction among attendees. While on-demand recordings of all sessions are available after the live broadcast, attendees also have the ability to easily find presenters and peers that share interests and connect with them in meaningful ways. The platform relies on well-known social media conventions that make it easy to use.

Circadian Control of Feeding and Body Weight (Channel 2)Although becoming recognized as critically important for well-being, the precise brain mechanisms by which alterations in circadian rhythms affect food consumption and feeding patterns remain unknown. This symposium will discuss the latest cutting-edge basic science research on circadian rhythm influence on feeding and weight.
-- Friday, Nov. 6, 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. (EST): The Obesity Society/Weight Management Dietitic Practice Group Joint Symposium: Something New to Chew On - Updates and Controversies From the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (Channel 1)Attendees will hear from past and current members of the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, who will outline the new recommendations, highlight changes to the scientific review process and discuss what this all means for the future of nutrition programs and policies. This session was jointly produced by TOS and WMDPG of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
