GatheringUs and New Narrative Memorials Reinvent How Communities Gather

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Oct. 14, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- People now have more options when it comes to safely celebrating those they love after loss, thanks to a new partnership between GatheringUs, a virtual memorial event company, and Canadian-based New Narrative Memorials.

New Narrative Memorials founder Christina Andreola will join the GatheringUs senior management team and the two companies will work together to provide event planning services and technical support for virtual funerals, memorials and other end of life celebrations.

"This new partnership will expand our custom virtual event offerings and help more people celebrate those they love through safe and meaningful experiences," says Noha Waibsnaider, GatheringUs co-founder and chief executive officer. "As more people continue to need social distancing options, we provide technical support and make in-person and virtual events come together in very real ways."

The two company founders met in 2018 when they were both starting businesses to help expand the traditional funeral industry. They were early adopters of virtual event models. As social distance concerns and needs created higher demand for remote events, the founders joined forces. Now, as deathcare industry trends point to online price transparency and virtual components of funerals becoming standard, the two companies have the expertise and infrastructure to address these needs together.

"Formalizing our relationship is a natural next step to expand our reach and offer families and communities more accessible ways to stay connected," says New Narrative Memorials founder Christina Andreola.

Both companies have grown quickly in the last six months: together, they have planned and hosted hundreds of virtual events, gathering over 20,000 people, and the combined team has expanded to 22 members.

Together, the founders plan to meet increasing demands for hybrid events, which include both in-person and virtual guests, and to partner with funeral homes and houses of worship to meet the needs of family and friend communities without geographical boundaries.
