The TASC Group Launches $10,000 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Scholarship Program at The City College of New York

NEW YORK, Dec. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The TASC Group (http://www.thetascgroup.com) has launched a $10,000 diversity, equity and inclusion program with The City College of New York (CCNY).

In effort to help foster diversity and inclusion within the public relations industry, The TASC Group will present a scholarship to talented and gifted multicultural students in the public relations and advertising program at CCNY. Scholarship recipients will receive $2,500 toward tuition fees, along with a paid semester-long internship at The TASC Group that includes professional development and mentoring by TASC employees.

TASC was inspired to develop the program by their ongoing work with social justice and nonprofit clients such as The Trayvon Martin Foundation, The Eagle Academy Foundation, and The Gathering for Justice.

"The TASC Group believes that diversity, equity and inclusion are critical values that need more attention in our industry. We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the Advertising/PR program at CCNY. Many of their talented and gifted graduates have either interned at TASC or are currently working for our company. We think CCNY is the perfect place to select gifted PR practitioners with diverse perspectives and give them the financial support and mentorship they need to be successful," stated Lawrence Kopp, CEO of The TASC Group.

TASC worked with longtime CCNY Professor Lynn Appelbaum to develop a program that would award exceptional students with career growth opportunities and real-world public relations experience.

"CCNY's Advertising/PR program is honored to work with the TASC Group to identify talented
multicultural students to benefit from this generous scholarship and internship. We're grateful to TASC's senior leadership team for supporting and nurturing diverse talent for our industry. This is the kind of dedicated commitment that will provide important opportunity and change lives," stated Lynn Appelbaum, professor and former Ad/PR program director.

The selection of awardees will be made by The TASC Group in consultation with a designated CCNY public relations and communications faculty member. The award selection will be announced on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.
