Fleet electrification has been brought to the forefront in recent days with the new Biden administration announcing its intention to replace the government fleet with electric vehicles. This industry discussion at the Stifel Conference will bring together electric vehicle and fleet leaders to discuss the current landscape, the benefits, and the challenges that remain as fleets look to an electric future.

“We are seeing a once-in-a-generation transformation of vehicles on the road,” said Suzy Taherian, CFO, Wrightspeed. “Studies show electric vehicles accounted for 2.6 percent of vehicle sales in 2019 and will ramp up to 13.4 percent of the market by 2030. That is a five-fold increase in a decade. We will reach the tipping point. As of 2019, more than 90 percent of the global car markets had electric vehicles incentives in place, accelerating this dramatic sea change.”

The electrification of fleets has far-reaching benefits from lower fuel and maintenance costs to reducing a fleet’s carbon footprint and its impact on the environment. Wrightspeed is enabling commercial fleets to achieve these benefits with its award-winning electric vehicle powertrains. Built for short-haul operations on urban streets, Wrightspeed’s technology is repowering a new generation of more efficient, longer range, and more powerful heavy-duty vehicles such as garbage, delivery and construction trucks, and buses. These vehicle categories account for 4 percent of the fleets on the road but contribute 30 percent of the emissions. Wrightspeed is partnering with companies in the US and across the world to electrify their fleets to decrease emissions and improve total cost of ownership by 20 percent.
