CyrusOne Receives Top Project of the Year Award from Environment+Energy Leader

The award demonstrates CyrusOne’s exemplary energy and environmental management work in the data center industry.

The winning project pioneered a comprehensive approach for reducing the total water impact of the flagship CyrusOne data center in Carrollton, TX, a high water-stress region. Using new methods to estimate and reduce water embodied in electricity, CyrusOne reduced onsite water use, switched to “waterless” electricity, and collaborated to restore water to local waterways. This three-part approach reduced total water impact by 75% in an industry known for intensive water use.
