Since it began in 2016, the Home for Good project has provided over $2.8 million in exterior building products, such as windows, siding and accessories to build or remodel over 600 Habitat for Humanity homes in more than 90 communities. Universal Music Group Nashville has been a partner in this critical work since the program’s launch, with Hubbard taking over from five-time entertainer of the year Luke Bryan as ambassador.

“I’m grateful to be part of Cornerstone Building Brands’ Home for Good project and the opportunity to help bring awareness to the shortage of affordable housing in our communities,” said Hubbard, who will be donating his time to the project. “Being a homeowner improves quality of life for so many families and children, so I’m happy to help in any way to ensure more families have a place to call home.”

Research shows that home ownership leads to higher graduation rates, improved health and growth in net family wealth that creates a path out of poverty.1 Rising housing costs and record housing shortages have worsened the affordable housing crisis over the past two years. Soaring housing costs have led to a substantial rise in housing cost burdens for the first time in 10 years. In 2020, 30% of all households had “unaffordable” rent or mortgage payments, defined as exceeding 30% of monthly household income, up 1.5 percent from 2019. In addition, the U.S. now has a deficit of 3.8 million homes, with the greatest supply shortages at low-income price points.2

“Cornerstone Building Brands is committed to improving the communities where we live, work and play. Access to affordable housing is an important component of a strong community. We are proud to donate exterior products that help make Habitat for Humanity homes both beautiful and resilient, while maintaining affordability,” said Rose Lee, President and Chief Executive Officer of Cornerstone Building Brands, whose portfolio of leading brands includes Simonton Windows, Ply Gem Windows, Mastic Siding and Accessories and American Building Components metal roofing. “We’re excited to partner with Tyler Hubbard to spread the word about the incredible and growing need for affordable housing.”

This year, Cornerstone Building Brands continues its support of Habitat Strong, helping local Habitat organizations in disaster-prone areas build homes with extreme-weather products that are more resistant to natural disasters. Cornerstone Building Brands manufactures an extensive array of exterior fortified products, including impact windows, metal roofing and siding.
