BIRD Aerosystems secures new contract to provide its Airborne Missile Protection System (AMPS) with SPREOS DIRCM for Boeing 737 BBJ Head of State Aircraft

June 9, 2025 – BIRD Aerosystems, a global leader in defense technology, has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by a new government customer for the supply and installation of its advanced SPREOS DIRCM system, a cutting-edge countermeasure integrated within the µAeroShield pod.
The system will be installed on a Boeing 737 BBJ Head of State aircraft and includes full certification and aircraft modification under a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) .
This contract further strengthens BIRD’s presence in the global market for airborne self-protection systems, further positing BIRD as a leading DIRCM manufacturer. This contract underlines its leadership in protecting heads of state aircraft around the world.
The µAeroShield pod integrates BIRD’s AMPS advanced missile protection system and the patented SPREOS DIRCM into a compact, easily installed solution that complies with civil aviation regulations. BIRD’s AMPS delivers near-zero false alarm rate and optimized jamming capabilities to ensure maximal protection of the head of state, the crew and aircraft from various threats that may be posed by MANPADS and other threats.
In addition, the contract includes the system delivery and certification, installation and Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) packages for testing, maintenance and training.
