AMERICAN SKIN ASSOCIATION ANNUAL GALA CELEBRATES OUTSTANDING HONOREES
Gala honors Renowned Surgeon Jesse M. Lewin, MD, FAAD, FACS and Global Pharmaceutical Leader Sanofi
NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday evening, at The Plaza Hotel, American Skin Association (ASA) held their Annual Gala. They presented awards to two outstanding honorees and celebrated another successful year of funding research and educating youth on skin health. The gala was attended by over 300 of ASA's loyal supporters and donors, including philanthropists, business leaders, and renowned physicians from the field of dermatology.
This year, awards were presented:
Jesse M. Lewin, MD, FAAD, FACS, Chief of Mohs Micrographic and Dermatologic Surgery, Vice Chair of Surgical Operations, Director of the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Melanoma and Skin Cancer Center, Fellowship Director - Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship, and Associate Professor of Dermatology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and The Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology, was presented ASA's Clinical Excellence in Melanoma and Skin Cancer Award for his tireless work towards discovering new dermatological therapies which bring hope to patients.
The award was presented by Mark G. Lebwohl, MD who praised Dr. Lewin's continued dedication to Dermatologic Surgery, his care for patients, and his mentorship of the next generation of dermatologic surgeons.
Global pharmaceutical leader, Sanofi, received ASA's 2025 Corporate Leadership Award. The award was presented by Emma Guttman-Yassky, MD, PhD and was accepted by Sanofi's Shaju Backer, Senior Vice President, Global Head of Immunology and Paul Rowe, MD, Senior Vice President, Head of Medical, Sanofi Specialty Care.

The critical research funded by ASA addresses not only the causes and treatments of melanoma, vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and other skin diseases, but also promises remarkable breakthroughs in the search for long-sought-after cures.

ASA's educational mission is no less crucial. The event's Master of Ceremonies was NBC's Emmy-winning weather anchor Dave Price. Mr. Price has emceed the event in previous years and was once again a wonderful addition to the festivities.
