Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation (KOFC)

Kenya Ordnance Factories Corporation (KOFC) is a State Corporation under the Ministry of State for Defence mandated to manufacture Hardware, Machinery and Equipment. The Corporation which is ISO 9001:2008 certified manufactures small arms ammunition and fabricates high precision tools and parts using the latest technology. KOFC is located along Eldoret – Kitale road 20 Km from Eldoret town. All ammunition is manufactured to NATO military standards.

KOFC is Kenya’s only ammunition production firm and includes two divisions, the Ammunition Production Division and the General Engineering Division.

The Corporation has the following capabilities: Turning and thread making of parts up to diameters of 90 mm and lengths of 600 mm; Three dimension Profile machining of parts of up to 200 mm length, and weighing 50 Kgs; Drilling Minimum diameters of up to 0.3 mm; Cutting of spiral, splined, bevel and spur gears, shafts, die blocks, inserts, key ways, sprockets, punches and dice among others; Chrome plating; Heat treatment of products at various temperatures to a maximum of 1200 degrees Celsius.
