Opentec

Opentec is a brand of Inventis Technology, which is an Australian electronics design and manufacturing company established in 1985 and based in Sydney. Opentec designs and assembles ruggedised notebook and tablet PCs, UMPCs (ultra-mobile PCs, or mini-tablet PCs) and PDAs. The company also customises these products, as well as create customised mounting systems, such as for motor vehicles and boats. Opentec also creates integrated, portable computer-based systems, such as secure, embedded WiFi solutions, situational awareness solutions, and biometrics collection and verification solutions. They also resell a select range of computers and accessories from leading manufacturers that help create application-specific outcomes.

Opentec is more than just a supplier of COTS and MOTS grade computers. Opentec is the only Australian rugged computer supplier that is ISO 9001:2008 certified for both manufacturing and design processes. Opentec is the only Australian computer solutions developer proven capable of creating ultra-low emission designs that meet the most stringent ‘Ground Army’ EMC levels required for military grade ‘Electronic Warfare’ systems. Opentec is also the only Australian rugged computer supplier that meets IPC-A 610 Class 3 requirements for PCB assembly and inspection, which is a requirement for products where continued high performance or performance-on-demand is critical, equipment downtime cannot be tolerated, end-use environment may be uncommonly harsh, and the equipment must function when required.
