Israel's Most Innovative Medical Powerhouse Opens South Florida Office

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- American Friends of Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer today announced a new office in South Florida to help raise awareness and support for Israel's national hospital, Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer. Established in 1948, Sheba has emerged as a world-renowned epicenter of innovation in Israeli medicine and is the largest and most comprehensive medical center in the entire Middle East.

A visionary hospital that saves lives around the world, Sheba's modern medicine transcends all borders. Revered for its exceptional global humanitarian missions, Sheba is regularly among the first to send doctors to areas that require emergency humanitarian aid and disaster response.

Last year, Sheba and Florida Atlantic University partnered on an emergency training course for first responders, bringing Sheba's top doctors to Boca Raton to share their expertise. With the opening of this new office, Sheba will continue to bring its most accomplished and distinguished physicians to South Florida to share their latest discoveries and treatments through informative briefings on topics such as Alzheimer's prevention, new methods of cardiac rehabilitation, global humanitarian care and more.

"If you live in South Florida and are interested in the most innovative advances in healthcare and medical research, then I urge you to learn about Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer," added Dr. David Pulver, a longtime Sheba donor who lives in Aventura. "The level of advanced medicine that Sheba's research powerhouse is generating is second to none, and I'm thrilled that Sheba will now be able to share these latest breakthroughs with the South Florida community."

To lead the new South Florida division, American Friends of Sheba Medical Center has named Alan Frent to serve as South Florida regional director. Frent plans to recruit a cross-section of the South Florida community to form an American Friends of Sheba Medical Center Advisory Committee.

"We are very excited that Alan Frent has come aboard to support the American Friends' ongoing efforts in South Florida," commented Peter Halasz, Board Chair of American Friends of Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer. "I am sure that with his strong and successful background in development, Alan will bring a singular passion and energy to the South Florida community."

The Florida office's launch event will take place on March 27. For more details on this free event or to learn more about the South Florida division of American Friends of Sheba Medical Center, visit http://shebamedical.org/ or contact Alan Frent at alanlfrent(at)gmail.com.
