CIA Plans Release of Soviet Naval Documents at National Press Club Headliners Newsmakers Event

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The CIA's Agency Data Office (ADO) and Information Management Services (IMS) is partnering with the National Museum of the U.S. Navy and the Naval Historical Foundation to hold a records release event at the National Press Club as part of the club's Headliners Newsmaker series. The event will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. in the Club's Zenger Room.

The newly released documents focus on the CIA's collection and analysis of the Soviet Navy and its military posture during the Cold War. A panel of CIA and Navy historians and officials will delve into this tense period of our nation's recent history and review the intelligence gathered over the course of three decades from the 1960s to the 1980s.
