Lemonaid Health Selected by Cambia Health Solutions health plan subsidiaries for telemedicine Pilot

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lemonaid Health (www.lemonaid.com) has been selected by Cambia Health Solutions health plan subsidiaries to pilot a new convenient way to get care for select large employer groups. Pilot participants will be able to access medical advice and prescriptions for a defined list of common conditions by submitting answers to questions on an online intake form without having to meet with a physician in-person or over live video. It is an asynchronous form of a doctor visit called eCare.

"Lemonaid allows people to receive medical advice and prescriptions for common medical needs such as; birth control, urinary tract or sinus infections without having to go anywhere. We are excited to pilot this with a select group of employers who can provide Lemonaid's simple and convenient care options to their employees," said Brodie Dychinco, General Manager of Convenient Care for Cambia Health Solutions.

Whereas traditional telemedicine companies can provide a phone or video visit about a medical issue, Lemonaid provides a defined set of services where the doctor can safely help the patient without having to have a phone or video-based conversation in most states. Instead, a patient completes a structured online intake form that a doctor then reviews. In states that require a live video visit between the doctor and the patient, Lemonaid doctors conduct an immediate short video visit.

"We're excited to partner with Cambia Health Solutions as we work together to provide standardized, convenient care to large employer groups," said Paul Johnson, CEO of Lemonaid Health.
