Goodyear Blimp to Cover NBA Finals

--Aerial coverage from Oakland and Cleveland

AKRON, Ohio, May 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning with tonight's opening game of the NBA Finals, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's world-famous blimps will continue a longstanding tradition of providing aerial coverage of the most-watched sports and entertainment events.

The Los Angeles-based Wingfoot Two, which made recent appearances in Oakland for the Western Conference Finals, is slated to cover Games 1, 2, 5 and 7, as necessary. Wingfoot One, on summer tour away from its Pompano Beach, Florida, home, is scheduled to provide aerial coverage for Games 3, 4 and 6, as necessary.

Launched in 2014, Wingfoot One is the first of a new generation of Goodyear Blimps, which includes sister vessel Wingfoot Two, christened in 2016. A third blimp is coming this summer. All three have been built at Goodyear's Wingfoot Lake Airship Base in Suffield, Ohio.

Since Goodyear's new fleet took flight, Wingfoot One and Wingfoot Two have provided aerial coverage of numerous marquee events, including the NBA Finals, the Daytona 500, the Oscars Red Carpet, the PGA Championship, the Rose Parade and the College Football Playoff National Championship.
