Webinar Explains How to Prevent Hotel PTAC Units From Failing in Warm, Humid Climates
ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- When everything goes right, packaged terminal air conditioning (PTAC) units provide a perfect solution to an important business question: "How do you make a hotel guest room comfortable for the least cost?" The low cost and simplicity of PTAC units are two of their most appealing features.
Problems arise when PTAC units are also expected to accomplish three other important functions: 1) control guest room humidity levels; 2) control guest room odors by introducing adequate amounts of treated outside air ventilation; and 3) provide proper pressurization versus outdoors so that moisture is not drawn into guest rooms or wall cavities. These three faulty assumptions have caused many PTAC-related moisture and mold problems in warm, humid climates.
