HOUSTON, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mangan Software Solutions (MSS) has announced that their innovative safety lifecycle platform, SLM v2, is the first Safety Lifecycle Software to achieve functional safety certification by an independent evaluation body. TÜV Rheinland certified SLM v2's Instrumented Systems, Functional Safety Assessment and Operate & Maintain modules in accordance with international standards IEC 61511 Part 1-3 and IEC 61508-3 (Functional Safety of Electrical/Electronic/Programmable Electronic Safety-related Systems). SLM v2 is the first Safety Lifecycle platform to encompass Process Safety, Functional Safety and SIS/IPL Lifecycle Management engineering disciplines into one technology platform.
For the certification process TÜV tested and evaluated the SLM platform's design, development and testing for compliance with the applicable requirements for off-line support tools according to IEC 61508-3 and IEC 61511 Part 1-3. With this certification, clients can be assured MSS has produced a high quality platform to manage their safety lifecycle systems and is maintaining best engineering practices in accordance with international standards.
