Carerise Holdings Teams Up With Musicians On Call To Announce The First Two Hospitals In New Orleans To Join The Bedside Performance Program

NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- CareRise® Holdings and Musicians On Call (MOC) announce the first hospitals in New Orleans to have the MOC patient-bedside music program. The hospitals are Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans and University Medical Center of New Orleans. MOC is a non-profit organization with a mission to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities. Since 1999, MOC volunteer and world famous musicians have performed for over 675,000 patients, families and caregivers across the United States. CareRise® Holdings is the parent company of multiple healthcare product and solution offerings, working in the sectors of risk management, insurance, and performance technology. CareRise® was founded in 2000 by Tim Goux.

"I'll never forget the first time that I reached out to Musicians On Call after reading about them in the Wall Street Journal in late July of 2017. From growing up in the healthcare industry, I witnessed first-hand the great joy that music brings to patients. I am elated that after several months of meetings and overall reflection and discernment by MOC, they have selected OMC - New Orleans and UMC as the first MOC Hospitals in New Orleans to 'go live'. It's also a blessing for me to know that from this point forward, hundreds of patients receiving care in New Orleans will experience the sounds of great vocals, acoustic guitars and songs that bring them the hope and inspiration they are seeking in many of these situations - literally at their bedside! It's just a phenomenal thing," said Tim Goux, founder of CareRise® Holdings.

"Musicians On Call is excited to join Tim in announcing that we will be launching our first programs in New Orleans this year," shared Pete Griffin, President of Musicians On Call. "Tim's support is what made this moment possible, and his generosity and leadership will allow thousands of patients in this community to enjoy the healing powers that live music brings to healthcare facilities."

Musicians On Call is looking for both Volunteer Guides and Volunteer Musicians to participate in the program. Volunteer Guides escort Volunteer Musicians from room-to-room during the Bedside Performance Programs within hospitals or healthcare facilities. Volunteer Musicians deliver the healing power of music by performing acoustically for patients, their families and staff.
