Haas Door Products Featured on THIS OLD HOUSE® 2018 IDEA HOUSE
WAUSEON, Ohio, Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The detached garage on the THIS OLD HOUSE® 2018 IDEA HOUSE features two American Tradition Series(TM) carriage-style garage doors from Haas Door. The Craftsman-style home, located in Narragansett, R.I., was constructed by Sweenor Builders, Inc. and is now featured in the November/December issue of This Old House magazine. The house will also be showcased in segments of the 2018-2019 season of the Emmy Award-winning TV series This Old House.
"This was the first time my company has used Haas Door products on a project," says Jeff Sweenor, president and CEO of Sweenor Builders, Inc. "I'm impressed with the look of the garage doors and the quality of the product. I would definitely consider using them on more of my projects in the future."
Easy-Care Garage Doors
The garage for the Idea House gets special attention since it's detached and connected to the house with a breezeway. The garage features two American Tradition Series steel doors in Cool Black with overlay boards and matching black hardware. Specialty glass in Dark Gray/Dark Gray in the windows completes the stylish look.
"The American Tradition Series garage doors look great on the Idea House," says Sweenor. "The material is perfect for this area --- it's insulated, rugged and low maintenance."
The 2,700-square-foot cottage was designed by Union Studio Community Architecture & Design out of Providence, Rhode Island. Located less than a mile from the town beach, the home epitomizes what buyers are looking for today: a smaller home that lives large in a tight-knit community. The free-standing garage serves as part of an "active living" backyard space that includes a patio with spa, fire pit, pergola swings, outdoor kitchen and open-air shower.
American Tradition Series
The dependable, thick steel garage doors in the American Tradition Series selected for the garage feature CFC/HCFC-free polyurethane insulation with a calculated R value of 13.45. Available as single or double doors, with solid top section designs or several window options, the garage doors come in 13 solid color options plus four wood grain base options.
The complete line of American Tradition Series doors includes Trinar(®) White, Trinar(®) Brown, Trinar(®) Beige, Cool Black, Bronze, Hunter Green, Brown, Gray, Polar White, Almond, Sahara Tan, Sandstone, Charcoal, Mahogany, Ash, American Walnut and English Oak. Most colors can be used as a base and/or overlay color to give added character to the elegant garage doors. Unique styles of window glass and decorative wrought iron hardware can be added to enhance the distinctive beauty of the doors.
The skilled team at South Shore Garage Door in Charleston, R.I. installed the garage doors. "There was a lot of attention to detail displayed by South Shore Garage Door, Inc. when they installed the garage doors from Haas Door," says Sweenor. "It was impressive to see the garage doors come together so quickly."
Haas Door is located in Wauseon, Ohio, where the company manufactures steel and aluminum residential and commercial garage doors.
