ALON's Strive Reduced Emissions Fuel Program Investing In Green Projects For Texas Arbor Day

DALLAS, Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Since its launch in June of 2015, ALON's reduced emissions program, Strive(®), has made a significant impact on the ability for drivers in Texas to help the environment, while pumping gas.

The Strive Reduced Emissions Program, the first sustainability program of its kind in Texas, is available to drivers in Texas and New Mexico at more than 300 ALON 7-Eleven stations.

In honor of Texas Arbor Day on Friday, November 2, throughout October and November, ALON is partnering with local nonprofits across Texas to plant trees and engage in several sustainability projects. An ALON spokesperson will be available at each event.

Events include
October 19, 9 am - 1 pm in Midland/Odessa, TX, ALON and Keep Odessa Beautiful will revamp the Odessa Recycle Center with some trees and landscaping. The recycling center is known for education and helping young citizens of Odessa learn sustainability.

October 30, 9 am - 1pm in Lubbock, TX, ALON is supporting the planting of trees with Keep Lubbock Beautiful and the Lubbock Parks Department in Lopez Park.

October 27, 9 am - 1 pm in Spring, TX, ALON and Keep Big Spring Beautiful will plant trees and work to revitalize the Boys & Girls club landscaping.

November 3, 10 am to 12:30 pm in Abilene, TX, ALON and Keep Abilene Beautiful will be planting trees in Kirby Lake Park. This tree planting will also include a seedling giveaway and an educational session to celebrate Texas Arbor Day.

November, 9 am - 1 pm in El Paso, ALON and Keep El Paso Beautiful will be working in two different neighborhood communities and community gardens to plant much-needed trees in El Paso.

"Since Strive launched in 2015, ALON 7-Eleven has been able to plant more than 34,000 trees in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, says Russ Pfeiffer, Vice President Fuel Strategies & Financial Services - Delek US Holdings, Inc. We are pleased to partner with Texas drivers and nonprofit organizations throughout the state to continue to make a positive impact on the environment."

For every gallon and grade of gas pumped at all ALON 7-Eleven locations in Texas and New Mexico, now recently including El Paso and Abilene, Strive(®) plants trees in local parks and neighborhoods and invests in certified carbon emissions reduction projects to neutralize emissions by up to 30 percent. This allows every driver to help support their local community and the environment by pumping the same ALON 7-Eleven fuel.

The Strive(®) program reduces customers' tailpipe emissions through GreenPrint's proprietary platform by planting trees and investing in local, regional, and global certified carbon reduction projects.
