ActivePDF Partners with CSUF to Provide Social Opportunities for Adults with Autism
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ActivePDF, the leading global provider of PDF automation solutions and digital transformation, continues its commitment to supporting charitable causes through a recent partnership with California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) Center for Autism. ActivePDF helped contribute to an event called "Spooktacular Social," an over 300-person social gathering for adults with autism and their caregivers.
This year's Spooktacular Social was the most successful in the event's history, with 156 registered volunteers and 154 guests, for a record-breaking 319 total attendees. Aside from CSUF, the event also broke the previous number of schools participating. From eight colleges, a grand total of 36 different majors were represented, showcasing the amount of support provided to individuals with autism across a variety of disciplinary specializations.
The social event took place on October 21, 2018 at the state-of-the-art Titan Student Union on the campus of CSUF. The 319 attendees enjoyed a fun afternoon of music, bowling, billiards, foosball, dancing, and a spectacular raffle giveaway. ActivePDF donated the grand prize gift basket, chocked full of autographed NHL Anaheim Ducks memorabilia with 4 premium seats to the Anaheim Ducks vs. Minnesota Wild game on November 9, 2018, which happened to be CSUF Night at Honda Center. The prize basket was raffled off at no cost amongst other amazing prizes donated by local businesses.
"This gift basket created a lot of buzz at the Spooktacular Social," says Dr. Sasha Zeedyk, Center Investigator at CSUF's Center for Autism. "We are excited to work with ActivePDF and extremely thankful for their continued support towards our efforts to provide social opportunities for individuals with autism. Our event's purpose is to provide adults with autism a place where they can interact with others in a safe and fun environment. Companies such as ActivePDF help make this possible."
The lucky winner, a huge Anaheim Ducks fan, entered the raffle to win the ActivePDF basket. Standing in anticipation at the front of the raffle table as the tickets were drawn, he let out an exuberant scream and jumped with excitement as his ticket was drawn from the hundreds entered.
"It's longtime been our belief that success means nothing unless its shared and given back to the community," says Derek Gerber, Global Marketing Director at ActivePDF. "One way we do this is by partnering with philanthropic causes and great organizations like CSUF's Center for Autism and leading autism researchers like Dr. Zeedyk."
While ActivePDF has a long history of sponsoring and partnering with autism organizations, this is the first time the company has partnered with CSUF's Center for Autism. The Spooktacular Social was also co-hosted by Family Autism Network, Chapman University, and University of California, Irvine (UCI).
"We are in awe at the amount of passion and dedication that goes into these events to help adults with autism, their families, and their caregivers," says Tim Sullivan, ActivePDF Founder and CEO. "We congratulate the winner and his family and are thankful to have the opportunity to participate in the good works of CSUF's Center for Autism and their partners."
